MATARIKI WRITING

The Seven Sisters of Matariki
MATARIKI WRITING

The Seven Sisters of Matariki

One day there were seven brothers that lived on Ninety Mile Beach. They were strong and handsome men. One day they went hunting for pigs at Mount Camel. Then they heard voices. On the hill they found Karen, Amanda, Tracey, Kylie, Hilda, Louise and Sally. The women  fell in love with Ian, John, Ivan, Ken, Chris, David and John. The seven sisters had planned to starve them to death. One day the seven sisters disappeared. John found the seven sisters up in the trees transforming into Tiwaiwakas. They flew into a whare. They were talking about their plan to starve the men. So John went back home and told his chief, Ken that their wives were going to starve them. So the chief  gave them a magic net that the chief had woven. He gave it to them and they went back to the whare. When the Tiwaiwaka flew away the brothers jumped out of the bushes and caught the sisters in the net. Then John transformed into an Albatross and took the sisters to Te Urunganana and they turned into stars. Every year the Maori celebrate Matariki and come together to celebrate.

I really enjoyed pasting to my blog. I found it hard to follow all the steps. Next time I will listen more carefully to the instructions.
